Your Daughter Is Claire Bennett

He didn't know what it had to do with Claire Bennett.

After a long while, the disconnected wires in Ethan Sterling's mind finally linked back up. All of a sudden, he came up with a terrifying assumption, and in a trembling voice he asked, "Mr. Bennett, your daughter is Claire Bennett?"

After hearing the answer, Ethan Sterling collapsed onto the sofa.

When Tanya Sterling saw Ethan Sterling end the call with an ashen face, she immediately asked, "Ethan, what were you just saying? Claire Bennett is Victor Bennett's daughter? You must be joking!"

Tanya Sterling had heard Ethan Sterling's startled cry just now.

But deep down, she still refused to believe it. If Claire Bennett was the eldest daughter of the Bennett family, then wouldn't Ethan Sterling dumping her for Naomi Pierce have been like throwing away a watermelon to pick up a sesame seed?

No matter what, Tanya Sterling refused to accept that answer.

Her mood had already been bad enough, and now that she had learned this, she felt sick with frustration.

Ethan Sterling sat on the sofa in a daze, unable to say a word.

Seeing that he wasn't speaking, Tanya Sterling quickly said, "Ethan, say something. Don't just sit there in silence. You're making people anxious. Is Claire Bennett really the Bennett family's daughter?"

Ethan Sterling slowly came back to himself. He lifted his eyes to Tanya Sterling and said, "Mom, Victor Bennett just said that Claire Bennett is the Bennett family's eldest daughter!"

Just thinking about it made Ethan Sterling feel awful inside.

Originally, if he had stayed with Claire Bennett, he really would have become the Bennett family's son-in-law by now. But he gave up Claire Bennett and turned to curry favor with Naomi Pierce, only to end up with nothing at all.

Now Claire Bennett had long since found another man. She simply didn't think much of him anymore.

The more Ethan Sterling thought about it, the worse he felt. He regretted not seizing the opportunity, regretted believing Naomi Pierce's lies. Everything had gone wrong.

Tanya Sterling also regretted it so much she kept slapping her thigh.

She didn't know how Claire Bennett had suddenly become the Bennett family's daughter. If she'd known back then that Claire Bennett was the Bennett family's daughter, she never would have opposed Ethan Sterling being with her.

"Ethan, it's not too late for you to go beg her now. Since we got the wrong person, it's not impossible to start pursuing her again now."

Ethan Sterling frowned. "But now she..."

There were so many men surrounding Claire Bennett now. To her, he was no longer important.

For some reason, once Ethan Sterling realized that, his mood became extremely foul.

Suddenly, he thought of what had happened at Kinley Estate. Back then, he had made Claire Bennett mistakenly believe she had slept with him, so that was his leverage!

"Mom, I know what to do now."

After Ethan Sterling said that, he turned to Tanya Sterling and said, "I can go pursue Claire Bennett again, but you can't keep giving her attitude anymore."

Back then, Tanya Sterling hadn't liked Claire Bennett and had given her plenty of dirty looks.

To soothe Claire Bennett, Ethan Sterling had even said quite a few nice things. If Tanya Sterling didn't cooperate now, there was nothing he could do.

"Don't worry! Mom knows what to do." Tanya Sterling agreed repeatedly. She promised, "Now that Claire Bennett is the Bennett family's daughter, as long as she can make you rich and successful, I'd even serve her if I had to!"

Ethan Sterling's eyes shifted, and an idea formed in his mind.

The corners of his mouth curled up into a confident smile as he said, "I'll go find out where Claire Bennett is now. You come with me to apologize to her. We have to make her change her mind!"

After Claire Bennett returned to the detached house, she washed away the day's exhaustion.

When she lay in bed, she felt like she was about to collapse from fatigue.

So much had gone wrong today that she had been overwhelmed trying to deal with it all.

But the most exhausted people were probably Ethan Sterling and Naomi Pierce.

Thinking of that, she opened the news again and looked through the follow-up reports from today. To her surprise, Naomi Pierce was actually pregnant, and she had even brought reporters in to cry about Ethan Sterling ignoring her, making a huge scene.

Claire Bennett felt that Ethan Sterling and Naomi Pierce would probably still be tangled up with each other for quite a while.

Those two probably wouldn't come around to annoy her anymore, right?

She had just turned off her phone and was about to go to sleep when the doorbell to the detached house suddenly rang.

Claire Bennett narrowed her eyes in confusion. Who was ringing the bell? Could it be Julian Sterling?

She was already lying in bed, so Claire Bennett couldn't be bothered to move.

So she picked up her phone and sent Julian Sterling a message: Why did you come back again? Is something wrong?

There was no reply from the other side; apparently Julian Sterling hadn't looked at his phone.

The doorbell kept ringing persistently, as if it would not stop until she answered the door.

Left with no choice, Claire Bennett could only get up. She threw on a coat and went downstairs to open the door.

She had kept thinking it was Julian Sterling just now, so she hadn't checked in advance. But the moment she saw Ethan Sterling and Tanya Sterling outside the door, her face immediately darkened.

Before Ethan Sterling could even speak, Claire Bennett immediately shut the door, clean and decisive, without the slightest hesitation, making it obvious she had no intention of speaking to Ethan Sterling.
