The One I Love Most Is Still You
"Everything before was just a moment of impulse. Only now have I realized that the one I love most in my heart is still you. Are you willing to give me another chance?"
Claire Bennett let out a cold laugh. "Do you not know how you got here? Can't you just check Google Maps? Do you still need me to tell you?"
In response to Ethan Sterling's long speech, Claire Bennett gave him only one heartless sentence: "Sorry, I'm not willing to give you a chance."
Her tone was heartless and cold, just like how she felt inside right now.
Ethan Sterling could no longer stir even the slightest ripple in her heart. He was like her dead ex-boyfriend. What they should do was wish each other well and forget each other for good.
A qualified ex-boyfriend should stay quietly in his own grave, not pop back up from the dead every time there's nothing better to do.
Ethan Sterling had said so much and had thought Claire Bennett would say something.
Whether she got angry or cursed him out, that would still be an emotional reaction. But she had no feelings at all and simply rejected him without mercy.
He knitted his brows and continued, "Are you still worried that Naomi Pierce and I are still entangled? Don't worry. I'll cut ties with her. From now on, I..."
Before Ethan Sterling could finish, a sharp voice suddenly rang out from behind them.
"Claire Bennett! You stole my Ethan Sterling, and now you want to persuade him to cut ties with me too. Aren't you afraid of being struck by lightning?"
Hearing the voice, Claire Bennett turned to look behind her.
She saw that Naomi Pierce had come at some point without her noticing. Naomi stood there with a face full of fury, looking at Claire Bennett as though she were her mortal enemy.
After Naomi Pierce exposed her pregnancy, she had been waiting for Ethan Sterling to come.
Later, the person she had sent to keep watch on Ethan Sterling told her that he had already gone out.
She was overjoyed and had thought Ethan Sterling had softened and was coming to the hospital to see her. She never expected that he had come to find Claire Bennett instead. How could she possibly stand by and watch her man be stolen away?
So she didn't care about anything else and ran over directly to stop him.
Naomi Pierce touched her still-flat lower belly and said through teary eyes, "Ethan, I'm already carrying your baby. Why haven't you come to the hospital to see me? This is our first child. Didn't you really want a child?"
Looking at Naomi Pierce in front of him, Ethan Sterling felt utterly disgusted.
His face darkened as he gritted his teeth and said, "You still dare to say that? Who knows whose bastard is in your belly? Maybe it's Kevin Parker's!"
Naomi Pierce quickly shook her head. "It's yours! The baby is yours!"
Tanya Sterling had just thought that Ethan Sterling was about to win Claire Bennett back, but then Naomi Pierce suddenly showed up out of nowhere.
Naomi Pierce was nothing but a walking disaster!
She had turned Ethan Sterling into a laughingstock throughout Chicago. And now, was she not going to be satisfied until Ethan Sterling had nothing left?
The more Tanya Sterling thought about it, the angrier she became. She strode forward without the slightest courtesy, grabbed Naomi Pierce, and shouted furiously, "Naomi Pierce! You lied to us, and you still dare show your face in front of us? Don't you dare use the bastard in your belly to frame Ethan, or I definitely won't let you off!"
Seeing Tanya Sterling looking at her with such hatred, Naomi Pierce felt only ridicule in her heart.
Before the day before yesterday, Tanya Sterling had doted on her in every possible way. She had never expected that after her identity was exposed, Tanya would start acting as if she recognized no one at all.
"What bastard? This is obviously Ethan's child. If you refuse to acknowledge it, then I'll post everything you've done online!"
Naomi Pierce had already lost everything by now.

Tanya Sterling was about to die of rage. With a shriek, she lunged at Naomi Pierce. Naomi Pierce quickly shot Claire Bennett a glance, then dodged toward her side, apparently trying to drag her into it too.
Claire Bennett instinctively dodged aside, but she still couldn't avoid being scratched on the chin by Tanya Sterling's long nails. A red streak of blood appeared instantly.
"You little bitch, don't run! Get over here right now!" Tanya Sterling roared furiously.
When Ethan Sterling saw that Claire Bennett was hurt, he immediately moved forward nervously. But before he could get to her, a strong, powerful hand pulled Claire Bennett away.
In an instant, she fell into a familiar, warm embrace.
When she looked up, she saw a handsome face. Julian Sterling? Why was he here?
Only then did Claire Bennett remember that earlier, when she had thought it was Julian Sterling ringing the doorbell, she had sent him a message. She hadn't expected that he would actually come running over because of a single text.
Leaning against his chest, Claire Bennett felt a sense of security like never before, and the tension in her heart also eased.
Julian Sterling said nothing more. His icy eyes merely swept lightly across the others before he wrapped an arm around Claire Bennett's shoulders, turned, and left.
