Ch. 278 - She's Mr. Sterling's Woman

Chapter 278

She's Mr. Sterling's Woman

At that moment, Willow Lane spotted Claire Bennett walking by. With her arms crossed over her chest, a look of contempt flashed in her eyes, and she let out a soft snort.

Claire Bennett naturally saw the expression on her face, but she didn't take Willow Lane seriously at all and simply walked past her and returned to her seat.

After she left, the Maison Verne employees gathered around Willow Lane immediately started chiming in all at once. "So what if Claire Bennett is Queen? Right now, Willow, you're the boss's wife of all Sterling International. If you want her gone in the future, won't she just have to obediently pack up and get the hell out?"

"Exactly. Willow, don't take her to heart."

"She still thinks she's such hot stuff right now. Willow, you're way more badass than she is."

Willow Lane chuckled lightly, her face full of disdain.

Of course she didn't think anything of Claire Bennett. That woman wasn't even qualified to be mentioned in the same breath as her.

During these three days off, she had fawned over Mr. Sterling attentively, and at last she had won him over and successfully gotten him to agree to date her.

Now she was Mr. Sterling's woman!

She had even sounded him out indirectly, asking what his relationship with Claire Bennett was.

He told her he had no relationship whatsoever with Claire Bennett, and that he didn't even know how Claire Bennett had used him before to get into Maison Verne and become a director.

From now on, Maison Verne would be her domain!

She wasn't going to let go of how Claire Bennett had embarrassed her at the new product launch so easily. They'd just wait and see!

"Director Claire, you've probably heard too, right?" Just as Claire Bennett sat down at her desk, Molly Lee leaned over with a mysterious look and gossiped with her. She was clearly somewhat worried about Willow Lane becoming the boss's wife.

"You mean Willow Lane?" Claire Bennett glanced at her.

"Yeah. Willow Lane's practically strutting around with her tail in the air. I've got a feeling she's definitely going to start trouble, so you'd better be careful."

Molly Lee's concern wasn't baseless. After all, Claire Bennett had had a pretty big conflict with her at the new product launch, and now that woman Willow Lane had completely turned things around, she would definitely target Claire Bennett.

And since Molly Lee was Claire Bennett's assistant, it was unlikely she'd be able to stay out of it herself.

The two of them were both in a somewhat dangerous position now.

Originally, Naomi Pierce had been Maison Verne's manager, in charge of everything big and small there. But now, because of those incidents, she was no longer working at Maison Verne, and all of Maison Verne's employees were like soldiers without a commander.

So naturally, they listened to whoever had the higher status.

A few days ago, Claire Bennett had revealed her identity as Queen, giving her considerable weight in Maison Verne, but Willow Lane was Mr. Sterling's girlfriend! In front of Willow Lane now, Claire Bennett didn't amount to much.

Molly Lee's face was full of worry, but Claire Bennett just smiled lightly, unconcerned, and said, "It's fine. Let her come at us. We'll deal with whatever comes our way. When the time comes, we'll handle it properly."

"But..."

Although Molly Lee was still somewhat worried, seeing Claire Bennett say that, she didn't continue.

Maybe Claire Bennett really did have a way.

Molly Lee's worry materialized very quickly. While she was handling the designers' drafts, someone accidentally bumped into her, and a whole large cup of coffee was immediately spilled over the design sketches.

The brown liquid quickly soaked through the paper, and the white sheets, once as clean as fresh snow, were ruined in an instant.

"Molly Lee!" A shrill shout rang out. Willow Lane glared at Molly Lee without the slightest courtesy and scolded angrily, "Do you even know what you're doing? That was my latest design draft, and now you've made it look like this. You don't want this job anymore, do you?"
