Ch. 346 - Election for the Person in Charge

Chapter 346

Election for the Person in Charge

Julian Sterling slowly walked in, instantly drawing everyone's eyes.

He was wearing a white dress shirt with black slacks. It wasn't especially formal, yet he still looked indescribably refined and noble. Just standing there, he made people unable to stop looking at him.

Claire Bennett had always known this man was handsome, but Julian Sterling rarely ever showed up at Maison Verne.

She hadn't expected him to actually come in person now.

All of Maison Verne's employees crowded around, quietly whispering to each other as they sized Julian Sterling up and commented on him.

"So handsome! Is he from headquarters?"

"Isn't he Claire Bennett's man? I saw him once last time. Supposedly he's President Sterling's assistant. He came to the press conference too, but I didn't dare stare at him then."

"Yeah, he really is Claire Bennett's man."

People's gazes kept drifting to Claire Bennett, full of teasing and suggestive amusement.

Willow Lane naturally heard those comments too. Seeing everyone praising Claire Bennett's man, her brows knit tightly, and a flash of displeasure crossed her eyes.

Had these women never seen a man before?

What a bunch of fuss over nothing!

Although Claire Bennett's man really was pretty good-looking... Willow Lane took a closer look, and he truly was so perfect she couldn't find a single flaw. But did he have a status as noble as President Sterling's?

A man didn't need to be too good-looking. As long as he had money, that was enough. This guy was nothing more than a dog at President Sterling's side!

Willow Lane glared viciously at Claire Bennett, her eyes full of jealousy and hatred, not bothering to hide it in the slightest.

Julian Sterling had three assistants with him. Marcus Reed had taken leave to return to his hometown, Wes Mercer needed to take his place, and Victor Wells had to handle some important matters for him, so that left only Julian himself to pretend to be himself and act as the assistant.

With that first impression already in place, everyone quickly accepted the idea that Julian Sterling was President Sterling's assistant.

Julian Sterling gave a light cough and said in a deep voice, "Per headquarters' requirements, Maison Verne will be selecting a person in charge. We have now received more than ten applications, and next everyone will compete fairly."

Everyone had already been mentally prepared, so there wasn't much reaction.

Julian Sterling swept his gaze over the crowd and said, "As for Maison Verne's person in charge, it's not as though we have no requirements. First, there will be an initial screening based on education, past experience, and leadership ability. Only those who qualify can proceed to the next round of the election."

As soon as they heard that, quite a few people let out cries of despair.

Who would have thought that even though they said anyone could sign up, there was actually still a certain threshold?

On education alone, they would already be screened out.

Amid everyone's wails, some people were stripped of their qualifications. Even Chloe Carter was not spared. She ground her teeth in hatred over it. In the end, only about five or six people were left, and Claire Bennett and Willow Lane were naturally among them.

After all that busy work, it was already getting late.

Julian Sterling said, "The second round of the election will be held tomorrow. I hope everyone prepares well."

As he turned to leave, he walked over to Claire Bennett's side and said in a low voice, "I'll wait for you at the entrance after work."

With that, Julian Sterling left directly.

Watching Julian Sterling's departing back, Claire Bennett could still seem to hear what he had just said ringing in her ears.

They now had that taboo feeling of an office romance. Before, when she had still been hesitating about whether or not to come to work, she had been able to see Julian Sterling every day. She hadn't expected that now this feeling actually felt pretty good.
