The Scumbag's Uncle, My Fortune

Ch. 379 - He Had to Expose Him Today

Chapter 379

He Had to Expose Him Today

Although Julian Sterling had quietly followed them yesterday, he hadn't shown up to interrupt, so Zane Cole still didn't know Julian Sterling had already come to New York.

Now that he heard Julian Sterling's voice, he hurriedly pressed, "Julian Sterling is here? He's right next to you?"

Claire Bennett: "Yeah."

Zane Cole gritted his teeth and let out a dark, chilly laugh. "No time like the present. Why not do it today?"

He had to expose this wolf in sheep's clothing for what he really was today!

"Uh..." Claire Bennett hesitated a little. She didn't know why Zane Cole had suddenly asked Julian Sterling to treat him to a meal, so she looked at Julian Sterling, asking for his opinion with her eyes.

Zane Cole wasn't speaking quietly on the other end, and Julian Sterling had already heard everything.

No matter what Zane Cole wanted to do, he wasn't afraid at all. Let him come at him with everything he had.

Julian Sterling curled his lips slightly and smiled. "Treating him to a meal? Sure."

Claire Bennett had still been a little hesitant, but hearing Julian Sterling say that, she didn't think too much more about it. So she said, "Alright then. He said he can treat you to dinner. I'll find a restaurant in a bit, reserve a table, and send it to you."

"No need. I've already made a reservation. I'll send you the address. You can just come straight over."

After saying that, Zane Cole didn't wait for Claire Bennett's reply and ended the call right away.

Right after that, he sent over an address.

Claire Bennett glanced at it. She wasn't very familiar with the place, but the Julian Sterling beside her was another story.

Cloud Pavilion really was a restaurant business he had invested in. It was in the same vein as Crown Taste House in Chicago. Zane Cole had invited them to dinner for no reason and had specifically chosen a place like that; the implication was self-evident.

Julian Sterling thought of what Ruby Sterling had said that day. She'd said that Zane Cole wanted to expose his identity.

Julian Sterling's eyes darkened, and then he said to Claire Bennett, "Since we're treating your friend to a meal, then the others should naturally come too. Why not invite everyone else as well? That way no one gets treated differently."

He didn't know what Zane Cole was planning to do, but in order to keep his identity from being exposed for the time being, Julian Sterling decided to get Ruby Sterling to come too.

That way, if anything unreasonable came up, they would be able to explain it.

"The others?" Claire Bennett looked puzzled, not knowing who else he meant.

Julian Sterling said, "Ruby Sterling is in New York too."

When Claire Bennett heard that, delight appeared on her face. "Ruby's here too? I haven't contacted her, so I had no idea."

As she spoke, Claire Bennett dialed Ruby Sterling's number and invited her to come eat with them.

At that moment, Ruby Sterling was at the Sterling family home keeping Old Mr. Sterling and Old Mrs. Sterling company. Julian Sterling had gone to find Claire Bennett, and it wouldn't have been right for her to go play third wheel, so naturally she had run far away.

Now that Claire Bennett was asking her to join them for a meal, she naturally accepted gladly.

After Claire Bennett finished the call, Julian Sterling said, "Let's go."

The two of them headed together for Cloud Pavilion. By the time they reached the entrance, Ruby Sterling was already there waiting.

"Claire!"

Claire Bennett got out of the car and stood with Ruby Sterling. Once Julian Sterling had parked and come over, the three of them went into the restaurant together.

Claire Bennett originally hadn't known where they were going. But when she saw they were actually going to somewhere like Cloud Pavilion, such an elegant, refined restaurant, she instantly started to worry.

A place like this had to be really expensive, right?

Zane Cole really wasn't holding back at all!

She secretly glanced at Julian Sterling. His payroll card had been with her the whole time before, so he probably didn't have much money on him.

Luckily, there was still a little money in the card. She'd pay the bill later.

Claire Bennett steadied herself and followed Julian Sterling and Ruby Sterling into the restaurant.

Inside the top-tier private room that had long since been reserved, Zane Cole was waiting in utter boredom. Beside him stood two chefs. One of them wore a tall white hat and had a foreign face, looking extremely professional.

He was the executive chef Cloud Pavilion had poached with a high salary, and beside him stood a man dressed in a Zhongshan suit.

Their contrasting styles gave off a somewhat jarring feeling, but at the same time also sparked a faint sense of anticipation.

The private room door was suddenly opened, and Claire Bennett walked in first.

When Zane Cole saw Ruby Sterling following behind her, the corner of his eye couldn't help twitching.

Damn it, hadn't he asked Julian Sterling to treat him to dinner? Why had Claire Bennett brought other people along too?

How was he supposed to pull this off in a minute?

Zane Cole knew Claire Bennett knew Ruby Sterling was a bona fide Sterling family heiress, but the point right now was that Julian Sterling, that old fox, had hidden his identity and deceived Claire Bennett!

If Ruby Sterling stepped in later, he was afraid he wouldn't be able to expose Julian Sterling's identity either.

The expression on Zane Cole's face changed again and again. Claire Bennett didn't notice what he was thinking, and only Ruby Sterling and Julian Sterling knew what was on his mind.

Seeing the look on Zane Cole's face, Ruby Sterling couldn't help curling her lips into a smile.

Nice try!

He still wanted to expose her big brother's identity? There was no way she was going to let him get what he wanted!

Claire Bennett simply greeted Zane Cole, then found an empty seat and sat down.

As things looked now, Claire Bennett and Ruby Sterling were in one camp, while Julian Sterling, though seated a little farther from the two women, was still on their side. Only Zane Cole was by himself, as if he were facing three opponents alone.
