Ch. 392 - Someone Blind Enough to Join Maison Verne

Chapter 392

Someone Blind Enough to Join Maison Verne

Today, Willow Lane heard that Maison Verne had a new hire starting, so she came over out of curiosity to take a look.

She hadn't expected to see Sienna Shaw.

This designer who used to work at Bennett Group had actually joined Maison Verne. But then again... Hazel Lewis had said she was blacklisting Claire Bennett across the entire industry. She'd said no one would come apply to Maison Verne. Since Claire Bennett couldn't find any other designers, naturally she could only go back to people from before.

Sienna Shaw did have some talent, but that talent had long since been squeezed dry. Even if Claire Bennett brought her in, it would be useless.

Willow Lane secretly felt delighted, thinking that this time Claire Bennett was definitely going to lose.

She revealed a contemptuous look and said, "You think I like coming here? I only heard that someone blind enough to join Maison Verne had shown up. I thought it was some big shot, but who knew it'd be a piece of trash like Sienna Shaw..."

After saying that, Willow Lane left Maison Verne triumphantly in her high heels.

After she was gone, Molly Lee said indignantly, "She's way too arrogant, isn't she? She actually called Designer Shaw trash!"

Claire Bennett looked at Sienna Shaw with some concern. "Don't take what she said to heart."

Sienna Shaw smiled. She said carelessly, "Manager Bennett, I'm fine. You don't need to worry. I've already trained myself in an invincible art where knives and spears can't touch me."

Back when she was at Bennett Group, Sienna Shaw had taken no small amount of verbal mockery from Willow Lane. At first she might have felt angry, but after realizing that being angry was useless, she found a new method: ignore Willow Lane and treat everything she said like farting.

Claire Bennett carefully looked Sienna Shaw over.

Seeing that Sienna Shaw really didn't look like she was forcing a smile, she smiled too and said, "Looks like you're adapting very well. In that case, I don't need to worry about you anymore."

"You can be completely at ease. I have no problem." Sienna Shaw patted her chest as she spoke.

"Alright, let's not take this little matter to heart. The more arrogant Willow Lane is, the harder we'll slap her in the face. Next... Sienna Shaw, hurry and come up with a few designs. Molly, keep expanding the recruiting range. Let's strive to bring Maison Verne back to life within one month."

The two of them spoke in unison.

"Okay."

"Got it!"

Sienna Shaw returned to her seat and began throwing herself into her work. Molly Lee also hurried off to get busy with her own tasks.

That left only Claire Bennett. Although she had been promoted to department manager, she couldn't just sit around doing nothing.

Since the new designer hadn't been brought on yet, then she would fill in as a designer herself for the time being.

So Claire Bennett took paper and a pen and sat down by the floor-to-ceiling window.

But design was not such a simple thing. It required ample inspiration, and right now Claire Bennett didn't have the slightest clue. She had no idea at all what she should design.

This industry had been developing for so many years that nearly every theme and design that could exist had already been done by someone. If she designed something now and couldn't break through, then the final result of a conventional design would be that consumers simply wouldn't buy it.

Her ultimate goal was to create a breakout hit design. Only then would it be possible to drive high sales.

Claire Bennett sat there letting her thoughts run wild for an entire day, yet she still didn't design a single thing. She realized her inspiration had run dry.

"Manager Bennett..." It wasn't until Molly Lee's cautious voice sounded.

Claire Bennett came back to herself. "What is it?"

A trace of embarrassment appeared on Molly Lee's face. "Um... I have a blind date tonight..."

At that moment, Claire Bennett glanced at her watch and only then realized it was already quitting time.

"Oh, then go ahead and get off work and head home now. Be careful on the way." Claire Bennett waved Molly Lee off, then after thinking for a moment, added, "I hope your blind date goes well."

Molly Lee smiled shyly, slung her bag over her shoulder, and left.

Claire Bennett stood up and walked over to Sienna Shaw's desk. She saw that over the course of today, Sienna had already begun sketching out quite a lot of ideas. Compared to that, she herself was truly awful.

"Sienna, it's time to get off work. You should head back too."

"Mm, then I'm leaving." Sienna Shaw packed up her things and was just about to get up and leave when Claire Bennett thought of something and said, "Keep all your designs with you before they're put into production. Don't hand them to a second person."

Hearing Claire Bennett's warning, Sienna Shaw's expression turned serious.

Both she and Claire Bennett knew how dangerous the people around them were. It was better to be careful.

"I understand." Sienna Shaw put everything back into her bag again, then waved goodbye to Claire Bennett and left.

Claire Bennett took out her phone and only then discovered that Julian Sterling had sent her a message earlier, telling her to wait for him at the company entrance.

She quickly packed up and went downstairs too.

...

Outside the window, the weather was gray and misty, and a fine drizzle like cow's hair was drifting down, thread by thread, like fine sand flying all across the sky, dampening the surrounding trees and landscaped greenery.

At this moment, a large crowd was packed together at the main entrance downstairs of Sterling International.

Leading them was Willow Lane. Beside her stood Hazel Lewis and several other Nia employees.

Earlier today at Nia, Willow Lane had accidentally let slip that President Sterling would be picking her up after work to go on a date. After Hazel Lewis heard, she wanted to see whether the President Sterling Willow Lane was talking about was really Julian Sterling, so she stayed to wait here and see her off together with the others.

They just hadn't expected it to start raining, so everyone could only take shelter at the building entrance and wait.

Some of Nia's employees were new and still didn't know about Willow Lane and President Sterling.

Now that they had heard about her romance with President Sterling, quite a few people, driven by curiosity and gossip, all swarmed over to join the excitement.

Just as everyone was waiting, Claire Bennett walked out of the elevator.
