Ch. 396 - Tell Willow Lane That He Isn't Mr. Sterling

Chapter 396

Tell Willow Lane That He Isn't Mr. Sterling

Wes Mercer hadn't expected that Mr. Sterling would actually stop hiding his identity. From now on, he wouldn't have to work this hard anymore either.

Later, Wes returned the luxury car. For the time being, he could only use Marcus Reed's car to get around, and once Marcus came back, he'd return the car to him.

Just now, Wes hadn't wanted to run into Julian Sterling by sheer bad luck.

An ordinary person like him, whether in looks or every other condition, compared to Julian Sterling, the dignified CEO, the contrast was simply too brutal.

Of course, he wasn't about to stick his head out and steal Mr. Sterling's spotlight either.

Originally, he had planned to wait until Julian Sterling left before getting out of the car to pick up Willow Lane. He hadn't expected Willow Lane to get angry and leave early. He couldn't get out of the car to chase after her, so he could only drive the car to the parking garage first, then go look for Willow Lane.

Wes took out his phone and dialed Willow Lane's number.

The phone rang twice before it was answered, and Willow Lane's not-too-pleased voice came through. "Where are you?"

"Willow, where did you go just now? I'm in the underground parking garage."

"What! You saw me just now? Then why didn't you come pick me up?"

Willow Lane was absolutely furious!

If Mr. Sterling had been there just now, she would already have viciously crushed Claire Bennett. How could Claire have slapped her in the face and made everyone laugh at her instead?

Mr. Sterling had actually been watching her the whole time just now without showing up. Even if she wanted to grovel and suck up to Mr. Sterling, Willow Lane still couldn't help being angry.

Her face was filled with fury, and she looked like she was about to explode.

All along, Willow Lane had always been the one currying favor with Wes; she had never spoken like this before.

This was the one and only time she had ever lost her temper at Wes.

And this was already with her holding back out of consideration for Wes's identity as Mr. Sterling. Otherwise, with Willow Lane's temper, Wes would probably be in deep trouble right now.

Hearing the anger in Willow Lane's voice, Wes felt a little guilty inside.

He quickly soothed her, saying, "Willow, don't be mad yet. I saw you leave just now and didn't have time to catch up. Where are you now? I'll come find you, okay?"

When Willow Lane heard Mr. Sterling coaxing her in such a humble tone, the anger in her heart finally eased a little.

"No need. I'll come find you."

After ending the call, Wes let out a heavy sigh.

He remembered what Julian Sterling had said today: he didn't need to keep pretending to be Mr. Sterling anymore. So did that mean he could tell Willow Lane the truth?

If she kept misunderstanding him as Mr. Sterling, that really wasn't a good thing.

After a bout of inner struggle, Wes made up his mind.

Tell Willow Lane that he wasn't Mr. Sterling!

Very soon, Willow Lane appeared, clicking over in high heels.

She searched around the parking garage for quite a while but still couldn't find the luxury car that had picked her up last time. Just now, she had figured it out and decided that Claire Bennett's man must have been driving the same car as Mr. Sterling, which was why everyone had gotten the wrong idea.

Mr. Sterling was actually willing to put aside his status to coax her. There were no telling how many women waiting to climb into a man like that's bed.

So she didn't dare keep throwing a tantrum either.

But after looking around the parking garage for a long time, Willow Lane still didn't see Mr. Sterling's car.

The only thing she saw was that car from just now that was suspected to have come to pick up Claire Bennett.

Just as Willow Lane was about to make a call, the door of that car opened, and Wes stepped out.

"Willow, I'm here."

When she saw that Wes had actually gotten out of this beat-up car worth a little over a hundred thousand, Willow Lane's expression changed.

She suppressed the doubts in her heart and walked up to ask, "Why are you here?"

What she really wanted to ask was why Wes was driving this car.
