Chapter 426
He Seems to Have Fallen for Sienna Shaw
That day, Wes Mercer had only told Molly Lee and Sienna Shaw about his situation because he was feeling too upset. Now it had already been resolved.
He didn't want to turn himself into a man who only went around complaining everywhere. People would look down on that.
So Wes smiled and said, "No, I was just worrying about where to eat."
Over the past few days that Sienna Shaw had been bringing Wes meals, she'd chatted with him here and there and knew that the reason he wanted her to deliver food was because he was picky about what he ate, and his stomach was weak too; if he wasn't careful, he might get diarrhea.
"Oh, right. I made too much for today's lunch box. I'll give you one."
As she spoke, Sienna Shaw warmly handed the lunch bag in her hand to Wes, then said, "I still have to go back and work overtime, so I'm heading out first."
After saying that, she waved and walked into the elevator.
Wes looked at the lunch bag in his hand, and a ripple of indescribable emotion stirred in his heart. A warm current gradually spread through his limbs and bones.
When he'd just run into Willow Lane, his mood had been heavy and miserable, but Sienna Shaw's appearance seemed like a ray of sunlight shining into the darkness.
Wes gradually came to realize that he seemed to have fallen for Sienna Shaw.
Maybe it had happened during those daily exchanges while she delivered meals before, or maybe because he'd been moved again and again. He had fallen for this tough, optimistic girl.
But he had only just broken up with Willow Lane, so if he immediately went after Sienna Shaw now, would she look down on him?
Wes clenched the bag in his hand and could only silently press these feelings down into the depths of his heart.
...
Ever since Julian Sterling said last time that he was going on a business trip, he still hadn't come back even today. He knew that because of this incident, the old master of the Sterling family had a very strong opinion of Claire Bennett, so he had gone to stay with him for a couple of days and soothe him.
In any case, he had already settled things with the Kane family, so he wasn't afraid any accident would happen.
As for Claire Bennett, she was busy with her own affairs too. At night, when they went to sleep, the two of them would talk on the phone for a while to keep their relationship close.
Life like this was busy and fulfilling.
That night, Claire Bennett lay in bed talking to Julian Sterling on the phone.
She asked, "How's your work going?"
"It's pretty much finished. I can go back in the next couple of days. Did you miss me?"
Hearing Julian Sterling say that, Claire Bennett's face couldn't help turning red. She hadn't expected Julian Sterling to ask her something like that.
They hadn't said things like this before.
She wriggled a little under the covers, the corners of her lips curling up as she smiled and said, "I did, so hurry back. Once I'm done with the press conference, I'll be free for a while, and we can go have some fun."
At that moment, far away in a hallway outside a room in New York, Julian Sterling stood there tall and straight. After hearing Claire Bennett's words, a gentle look appeared on his face, and then he said in a low voice, "Mm, wait for me to come back."
Over the past two days, the old master of the Sterling family had been in a pretty good mood, and he was no longer stubbornly pressing the matter concerning Claire Bennett.
He clearly meant to turn a blind eye to it. As long as this matter was handled properly, presumably there wouldn't be any problems.
Afraid Claire Bennett would worry about Ian Walsh, Julian Sterling spoke up to reassure her: "You don't need to worry about Ian Walsh's situation. No matter what happens, I'm here. I won't let you be bullied."
Although she felt there was a bit of consolation in Julian Sterling's words, Claire Bennett was still deeply moved.
The two of them talked until they were unbearably sleepy, and only then did they hang up.
In the blink of an eye, the night passed, and the next day, Maison Verne's new product launch was held at a five-star hotel.
