You're Nothing but a Jinx

Claire Bennett froze for a moment, not expecting Megan Sterling to ask her that.

She thought about it carefully and realized it really had been a long time since she had seen Ethan Sterling. After that scandal involving him and Naomi Pierce, and after what Ethan Sterling had tried to do to her, he had never appeared in front of her again.

It was as if he had disappeared.

Claire Bennett's heart was now full of Julian Sterling, and she hadn't thought about Ethan Sterling anymore either.

Ruby Sterling and Cameron Quinn had arrived late just now. By then, Claire Bennett and Megan Sterling had already come out for a walk, so Ruby hadn't gone with her. Now, hearing Megan Sterling say that Claire Bennett had pushed her into the pond, Ruby was the first to explode.

"Impossible!" Ruby Sterling said firmly. "Claire isn't that petty. How could she possibly push you into the water just because you asked that question? Are you mistaken?"

She paused. "Why would I do that?"

Indeed, Megan Sterling had no reason to do that, and everyone present became even more convinced of Claire Bennett's guilt.

With a splash, Julian Sterling finally surfaced holding Claire Bennett, and everyone let out a sigh of relief. Julian Sterling brought Claire Bennett ashore with him, laid her down by the bank, and bent over to give her CPR.

When Ruby Sterling saw Claire Bennett unconscious and unresponsive, her eyes turned red. "Claire..."
