The Truth Comes Out, and the Old Master Flies into a Rage

And whoever had knocked Claire Bennett into the pond had obviously done it on purpose!

Ruby Sterling resented every last one of them, wishing she could kill everyone who stood in the way of Claire Bennett becoming her sister-in-law.

While changing clothes just now, Claire Bennett had already thought everything through very clearly. There was no way this could be hidden forever. A pregnant belly would change eventually, and she and Julian Sterling didn't even know what the problem was exactly. Were they supposed to strap on a fake belly?

So she might as well use this chance to make everything clear. Old Master Sterling didn't like her anyway. Even if they kept hiding it, nothing would come of it. At most, telling the truth would just make him dislike her a little more.

"Hmph! For the sake of getting into the Sterling family, you really have used every trick in the book!"

Old Master Sterling was about to keep berating them, but Julian Sterling beside him stood up. He walked to Claire Bennett's side, took her hand, and then said, "Grandpa, this was all my plan. Don't blame Claire. She didn't know anything about it at first."

"You... Julian! Sterling! Do you even have any respect for me at all? You actually dared to lie about something this huge!" Old Master Sterling looked at Julian Sterling in furious disappointment, nearly dying of rage.

He felt that Julian Sterling had been so bewitched by that woman Claire Bennett that he was completely out of his mind, to the point of coming up with something like this.

Julian Sterling said gravely, "Claire is the only one I like. Grandpa, you don't like her, so we can stay out of your sight. I did this because I wanted you to accept her. If you accept her as your granddaughter-in-law, then the great-grandchild you want will come sooner or later."

Old Master Sterling was left speechless.

So now the meaning behind Julian Sterling's words was actually to blame him?

Julian Sterling was saying that because he wouldn't accept Claire Bennett, that was why he had done something like this, and none of it was their fault, was that it?!

Old Madam Sterling looked helpless as she said, "Julian, the two of you really were in the wrong here. If you wanted Grandpa to accept your relationship, you still shouldn't have lied and deceived him."

She also felt a little disappointed deep down. She had thought Claire Bennett really was pregnant, and that the Sterling family was about to welcome a great-grandchild.

When Claire Bennett heard Old Madam Sterling's words, a flicker of guilt rose in her eyes.

But even more than that, she felt an unprecedented sense of relief. Now that everything had been exposed, she would no longer have to keep worrying in every possible way that the truth would come out. No matter how angry they were, she could bear the consequences.

The other members of the Sterling family had already been dissatisfied with Old Master Sterling's favoritism toward Julian Sterling. They had never expected that now he himself would do something so foolish. Wasn't this basically handing them an opportunity?

Several of them immediately started talking over one another.

"Julian, how could you do something like this? Old Master Sterling is going to be very angry."

"Exactly. This is you completely disregarding Old Master Sterling. He was only doing it for your own good."

"There are so many outstanding women in New York. Is there really not a single one among them who catches your eye? You don't have to be so fixated on Claire Bennett. Her family is the reason our fourth brother ended up a vegetable."
