There Seems to Be Something Going On Behind This
The manager shot Ava Bennett an unhappy look. This Bennett family heiress wasn't exactly anyone famous; at least compared to the Sterling family, she was nothing much. Why would they care about her?
He said to Lily displeased, "Who is this? You actually brought a stranger in here. What if something gets stolen?"
After saying that, he let out a cold snort and said, "Lily, you've violated employee rules and even brought someone into the house without permission. Go pack up your things right now. You don't need to come back tomorrow!"
Lily's eyes widened, and it felt like the sky was collapsing.
She had only wanted to suck up to Ava Bennett so she could have an easier time herself. She never expected to lose even her job. Her monthly pay was pretty good now, and if she got fired, wouldn't that mean starting all over again?
She could no longer stay calm and stepped forward to plead with the supervisor. "Supervisor, I know I was wrong. I shouldn't have brought someone here without permission. Please forgive me!"
Hearing Lily's words, Claire Bennett looked at Ava Bennett in surprise.
The way that sounded... it seemed like there was something else going on?
She asked in confusion, "This Miss Ava Bennett said she was the owner of this place, and that's why Lily brought her over. But listening to what you're saying now, that doesn't seem to be the case?"
The manager's face darkened, and he snorted. "The owner of this apartment is a man! And his last name is Warren. I don't think he has anything at all to do with this lady!"
After saying that, he said bluntly, "If you still won't leave, then I'm calling the police to report an unlawful break-in!"
When Ava Bennett heard this, her face instantly turned pale, and her expression grew awful to the extreme.
She had originally thought this manager just didn't know who she was, which was why he had been so eager to please Claire Bennett. But she hadn't expected that he actually did know who she was and still didn't give her any face at all!
She had come here to laugh at Claire Bennett, but she hadn't expected someone to help Claire Bennett. Now she was the one who had become the joke!
Only after hearing this did Claire Bennett understand what was going on. It seemed Lily had lied in order to help Ava Bennett; this apartment wasn't Ava Bennett's at all.
In the end, after a severe reprimand from the real estate company's manager, Ava Bennett and Lily left together in disgrace.
Claire Bennett also switched to another apartment to rent, and the manager even gave her a very large discount. She felt that her luck was just too good!

Old Mrs. Sterling said, "Enough, don't be so merciless. Claire was with Julian for so long after all. It's normal that he can't let go of Claire right away. Besides, they already said just now that Claire doesn't know Julian helped her, so don't go too far."
