Ch. 54 - Ruby Sterling Got Dumped

Chapter 54

Ruby Sterling Got Dumped

Naomi Pierce's face looked awful, and she almost shrieked, "Claire Bennett! What kind of nonsense are you talking about? Watch it, or I'll sue you for defamation!"

This was what she feared most: that her true identity would be exposed.

When Claire Bennett saw the savage, twisted look on Naomi Pierce's face, she couldn't help feeling a little sorry for Ethan Sterling. He really was pitiful, marrying a vicious woman like this.

She let out a light laugh. "Then go ahead and sue. Let's see what evidence you can come up with."

Naomi Pierce had nothing to say. She really didn't have any evidence.

Seeing her stay silent, Claire Bennett said unhurriedly, "Future Mrs. Sterling, since you've invited me so sincerely, I'll be sure to attend your engagement party on time. See you there."

After saying that, she turned and left.

Once Claire Bennett had gone, Naomi Pierce's whole body went limp. She felt a layer of sweat break out across her back.

Claire Bennett!

When had she found out about this?

The more Naomi Pierce thought about it, the gloomier her expression became. Her whole demeanor turned dark and sinister, making people afraid to go anywhere near her. The hand at her side clenched tightly.

As long as Claire Bennett existed, everything she had could disappear at any moment. If this really got exposed...

No, she had to destroy Claire Bennett completely!

...

After leaving Sterling International, Claire Bennett's phone rang. She took it out and glanced at it. It was a call from Ruby Sterling.

"Claire, sorry. I've been a little busy lately, so I haven't come to see you. Then it hit me that Ethan Sterling that scumbag and that white lotus's engagement party is coming up, and we still haven't had our dresses made. Are you at the apartment right now? I'll come get you right away, and we can go have outfits custom-made together."

Hearing Ruby Sterling's words, Claire Bennett's lips curled slightly upward.

Luckily, she still had a good girlfriend to help her.

"I'm at the entrance to Sterling International right now. Come over."

Ruby Sterling quickly drove up in a sports car as red as fire. The car stopped in front of Claire Bennett, and she opened the door. "Claire, get in."

Claire Bennett pulled open the door and got in.

Ruby Sterling stepped on the gas, the sports car roared, and it sped away at once.

Claire Bennett sat in the passenger seat. She glanced at the interior decorations and asked in confusion, "Why are you suddenly driving a car like this?"

Although Ruby Sterling was the Sterling family's eldest daughter, she had worked while studying in college and had never exposed her identity as a rich girl. If Claire Bennett hadn't later found out by accident that she was the Sterling family's daughter, she probably would have thought Ruby Sterling was, like her, just a girl from a salaried household.

She normally wouldn't drive a car like this out.

At the mention of this, a disgusted expression appeared on Ruby Sterling's face.

She cursed without holding back, "I never would've thought Chase Monroe was the kind of man who chases wealth and dumps poverty. He hooked up with some rich girl and dumped me!"

"What?" Claire Bennett was extremely shocked.

Wasn't Ruby Sterling herself a rich girl? She still got dumped by Chase Monroe?

Next, Ruby Sterling told Claire Bennett everything that had happened, from beginning to end.

Chase Monroe's family was very poor, but he had a good face that could fool people. He was also diligent, studious, and highly motivated.

The two of them had started dating in college.

After graduation, because Ruby Sterling was afraid Chase Monroe would feel inferior if he knew her identity, she never told him the truth. Secretly, she used her connections to arrange for Chase Monroe to get a job at Sterling Group.

Originally, she had planned to tell him about it after he had settled down.

By then, he probably wouldn't have found it so hard to accept.

Who would've thought that during the short time she went back to Chicago, Chase Monroe would rely on his own ability and charm to hook up with a wealthy heiress, and a few days ago he bluntly told her that he didn't want to work hard anymore.

So Ruby Sterling got dumped.
