Chapter 616
Getting People to Go Support Claire Bennett's Grand Opening
While Ava Bennett felt regret, she could only give up on getting a storefront in Harbor Point Mall. Anyway, she already had two storefronts in Prosper Center now, which was enough for her use.
As for Claire Bennett, she wasn't worried about her at all.
Even she had no way of getting a storefront in Harbor Point Mall, so there was even less chance that woman Claire Bennett could get into Harbor Point Mall. Was she supposed to rely on that man of hers who'd already been kicked out of Sterling Group?
...
That evening, inside the apartment.
Julian Sterling happened to have some free time today, so he came back to the apartment to have dinner with Grandpa and Grandma.
Old Mr. Sterling and Old Mrs. Sterling sat across from him. The two of them hadn't seen Claire Bennett these past few days. She was busy with the grand opening and practically wished she could stay at the company twenty-four hours a day.
Although Julian Sterling felt very sorry for her, he could only let Claire Bennett throw herself into doing what she liked. After all, this was something Claire Bennett loved, and he hoped she would find her own spiritual world.
"Julian." Old Mrs. Sterling looked at Julian Sterling and asked, "Has Claire been busy with her brand lately? You and Claire are both so busy that the two of you hardly have any time to come back."
Old Mr. Sterling snorted. "Julian's company has only just gotten started. A company in its early stages naturally takes a lot of energy, so stop thinking about having him keep you company."
Old Mrs. Sterling shot back unhappily, "Listen to you. Aren't you the same? You're always muttering about Claire in my ear. That's why I'm asking Julian what's going on."
Hearing Old Mrs. Sterling expose him, an awkward look appeared on Old Mr. Sterling's face.
He actually didn't know what was going on with himself either.
After not seeing Claire Bennett for several days, he had actually started to miss that woman a little. In the past he hadn't liked Claire Bennett; just looking at her one more time had annoyed him. But ever since moving into Claire Bennett's place, now that she hadn't come back for only a few days, he actually found himself missing the days of bickering with Claire Bennett.
He felt like he must be crazy!
Julian Sterling curled his lips into a small smile and said softly, "Grandpa, Grandma, the two of us really have been a little busy lately. Claire's new store is opening soon, and my company has also gotten on track, so we'll probably have less time to keep you company. It'll be better once we're through this period."
Hearing Julian Sterling's words, Old Mr. Sterling gave an unhappy snort and said, "Just go busy yourself with your own affairs. You don't need to worry about your grandmother and me. We're not little children who need someone with us every second."
After saying that, he suddenly asked, "You just said Claire's store is opening. Did you invite anyone to go support the event?"
Julian Sterling shook his head. He had actually forgotten about that.
"You're really careless. When a shop like this opens, you definitely need to invite some prominent people to go help support the occasion. That's the only way to get people to notice it."
Julian Sterling listened respectfully to Old Mr. Sterling's lecture. "Yes, I didn't think it through."
After thinking for a moment, Julian Sterling stood up and went downstairs to make a call.
A little while later, he returned to Old Mr. Sterling. "Grandpa, it's already been arranged. Quite a few celebrities will come support the opening, and when the time comes they'll definitely make Claire's store attract everyone's attention."
Old Mr. Sterling nodded in satisfaction, looking very much like he thought the boy was teachable, and praised him, "You did very well."
...
On the day Claire Bennett's store opened, Old Mr. Sterling and Old Mrs. Sterling were in front of their phones early, watching the livestream from the scene. Julian Sterling had said he would arrange for someone to livestream it for them.
This was also one of the two elders' little pleasures in their spare time.
All of a sudden, Old Mr. Sterling saw a comment in the livestream chat. That person said, "Is this a new store opening? I feel like I saw promotion for Bennett Group's jewelry store before. This couldn't be that Bennett Group store, could it?"
Old Mr. Sterling's brows knit tightly. He looked at Old Mrs. Sterling and asked, "What does this person mean?"
"Julian said Claire's stepsister is also opening today, and it's in the mall next door. I imagine these people are probably there for their store instead."
When Old Mr. Sterling heard that, he was practically furious to the point of exploding.
They came for Ava Bennett's store, and yet they ended up in their livestream room? Were these people blind?
He gave a cold snort, then picked up his phone. "I refuse to believe they can outshine Claire Bennett. This time, I'm going to make sure Claire Bennett has a truly glorious opening!"
Even though these things had happened in Old Mr. Sterling's family, it wasn't as if Old Mr. Sterling had no connections at all.
He had decided to back Claire Bennett up!
...
Today was Harbor Point Mall's grand opening, and it just so happened to coincide with Prosper Center's opening. Olivia Lawson secretly went to take a look, and as soon as she got there, she saw Claire Bennett busy with the opening in front of the best and largest storefront by the entrance.
Then she looked at the sign above with the words Maison Verne Jewelry on it, and was immediately startled.
After that, she didn't dare stay any longer and ran straight back to tell Ava Bennett this shocking news.
"Manager Bennett, this is bad!"
