Chapter 666
Julian Sterling Gets Stuck in a Dead End Again (Continued)
When Julian Sterling gave Marcus Reed instructions one last time to find a doctor, Ruby Sterling yanked Marcus back in one motion.
She looked at Julian Sterling and said, "Julian! You've already found so many doctors, and every time it's the same result. Stop wasting your time."
Julian Sterling didn't listen to Ruby Sterling. He only looked at Marcus Reed and instructed, "Ignore her. Go get a doctor here right now."
When Ruby Sterling heard Julian Sterling's words, she was frantic inside.
With red eyes, she gritted her teeth and said, "If you have the time, you'd be better off managing your company properly. Otherwise, when Claire wakes up and sees you've run the company into the ground, is she supposed to suffer right along with you?"
Julian Sterling pressed his thin lips together tightly and didn't speak for a long time.
A moment later, his tightly furrowed brows relaxed, and he asked Marcus Reed hoarsely, "How is the company doing?"
When Ruby Sterling heard Julian Sterling's words, she knew he had finally shifted his attention away from Claire Bennett to something else. Julian Sterling was finally willing to listen to her for once!
She was so moved she was on the verge of tears.
Now that Claire Bennett had gone down, if Julian Sterling kept going down too, then no one knew what they would do.
Under Ruby Sterling's intervention, Julian Sterling finally stopped crazily looking for doctors for Claire Bennett. He began to shift a little of his attention to the company, because he believed that one day Claire Bennett would wake up, and when that time came, he couldn't let Claire Bennett suffer alongside him the way Ruby Sterling had said.
After what happened to Claire Bennett this time, Julian Sterling actually blamed himself a little.
He felt that if it weren't for him, Claire Bennett would never have left Bennett Group, much less started a company and gone up against Ava Bennett.
It was precisely because of that guilty mindset that Julian Sterling had fallen into a vicious cycle, constantly searching for doctors, wanting to cure Claire Bennett.
Julian Sterling looked at Claire Bennett lying there and tightly held her hand in his large palm.
He silently said in his heart: Claire, I'll manage the company well now and make everything the best it can be, so when that time comes, will you wake up, okay?
The sunlight outside the window streamed in, and a few warm rays fell across Claire Bennett's body.
It made her features look even gentler.
The flowers set beside her also swayed slightly in the breeze, as though they were answering Julian Sterling's request in Claire Bennett's place.
Julian Sterling lightly curved his lips. Claire, then it's a deal.
He would definitely wait until the day Claire Bennett woke up!
Julian Sterling had been worried about Claire Bennett's condition before, so he hadn't had time to deal with Ava Bennett.
But once he had some room to act, he quickly had Ava Bennett captured. Her situation during this period had been terrible. Although she had hit Claire Bennett and turned her into a vegetable, she had been hiding and fleeing everywhere, not even daring to use ordinary public transportation.
She could only take some shady routes.
And she didn't dare go to the bank to withdraw money either, afraid someone would discover she was still around. After living like that for only a short while, Ava Bennett could barely take it anymore.
She thought of the life she used to have. She couldn't understand how she had fallen from the daughter of the Bennett family to this point, when in the past she had lived in luxury and lacked for nothing.
So when Julian Sterling's people caught her, she didn't feel that it was a bad thing. Instead, she felt a kind of relieved ease, as though a weight had been lifted.
Inside the hospital room.
Julian Sterling was keeping Claire Bennett company. He held Claire Bennett's hand and was gently massaging it for her. The doctor had said that if she wasn't massaged over the long term, her muscles would very likely become stiff. Quentin Sterling and Claire Bennett's mother had both been in vegetative states for years, and their muscles had atrophied very badly because of it.
After Marcus Reed walked in, he said excitedly, "Mr. Sterling, we've found Ava Bennett. We've already brought her back. How do you plan to deal with her?"
Julian Sterling's eyes narrowed slightly, and a trace of killing intent surfaced in them.
Marcus Reed had originally thought Julian Sterling would viciously torture Ava Bennett to vent Claire Bennett's anger. After all, Ava Bennett had caused Claire Bennett to become like this, so Julian Sterling should hate her deeply.
But unexpectedly, Julian Sterling only let out a cold laugh and said, "Where is she?"
Marcus Reed revealed a surprised expression. He hadn't expected Julian Sterling to want to see Ava Bennett. What did he want to say to her?
...
Very soon, Julian Sterling met Ava Bennett.
Ava Bennett was curled up miserably in a corner. Her hair was a mess, and her face carried a look of panic. Her entire mental state was awful.
Julian Sterling looked down at her from above and said in a deep voice, "Do you hate Ethan Sterling? He's the one who made you become what you are today. If it weren't for him, you'd still be the daughter of the Bennett family, and you'd still be enjoying the glory that family brought you."
His voice wasn't loud, as if he were simply stating the facts lightly.
