A Wonderful Misunderstanding
With Marcus Reed's help, Claire Bennett successfully got inside.
Just as Marcus Reed was about to take Claire Bennett to find Julian Sterling, Claire Bennett asked him to bring her to a spot off to the side so she could secretly take a look. She meant that she didn't want to disturb Julian Sterling's work; she just wanted to watch quietly from the side.
Although Marcus Reed didn't understand, he still took Claire Bennett to a concealed spot.
From there, they could clearly see Julian Sterling, but unless someone looked carefully, they wouldn't be able to see the two of them.
"Ma'am, Mr. Sterling is over there." Marcus Reed pointed toward the area ahead.
Claire Bennett looked in the direction he indicated.

He was talking with several executives, looking composed and aristocratic, a little like when Claire Bennett had first met him.
The moment Claire Bennett saw Julian Sterling, her eyes instantly reddened. She had gone far too long without seeing him.
Standing beside Claire Bennett, Marcus Reed couldn't quite understand why she was just watching from here. Julian Sterling had been longing for her to wake up so much; she should be going over to see Julian Sterling now. But he didn't dare say much against Claire Bennett's instructions, and simply stayed silent by her side.
Just then, a little girl ran toward Julian Sterling and immediately wrapped herself around his leg.

"Why is Daisy Quinn here?" Marcus Reed's voice sounded beside Claire Bennett.
Claire Bennett turned to look at Marcus Reed and asked, "That child's name is Daisy Quinn? Her... her mother, is she pretty? What kind of person is she?"
Marcus Reed answered honestly, "Daisy Quinn is Jenna Quinn's daughter. She's very lovable, and we all adore her. Mr. Sterling also thinks she's very cute. Looks like Jenna Quinn brought her here today."
Claire Bennett's face went two shades paler. She curled her lips into a bitter smile, then asked, "Does that Jenna Quinn treat Julian Sterling well?"
Hearing Claire Bennett's question, Marcus Reed felt a little confused. Jenna Quinn was Julian Sterling's assistant, the same kind of job as his. If she didn't treat Julian Sterling, her boss, properly, then wasn't she just failing to do her job?
Marcus Reed still didn't know that Claire Bennett had already misunderstood the relationship between Jenna Quinn and Julian Sterling.
He said, "Very well. Jenna Quinn takes care of Mr. Sterling's daily needs. She's especially thoughtful, and she's also meticulous and conscientious at work."
It felt as though a huge stone were pressing down on Claire Bennett's heart. Her eyes stung, but she didn't want to let herself cry.
With a woman like that by Julian Sterling's side taking care of him, she should be happy, right? Why should she be sad?
Maybe those three years were simply the time they had missed each other. Maybe this was where their relationship ended.
"I understand. Then I'll go first." Claire Bennett forced a bitter smile. "With her taking care of Julian Sterling from now on, their family of three will definitely be very happy."
After saying that in a low voice, she turned and left in a daze.
"Ma'am." Marcus Reed called out, but Claire Bennett didn't turn back.
