Just when Claire Bennett thought Julian Sterling was going to change the subject, or pretend he hadn't heard her,
the Julian Sterling in front of her suddenly reached out and gently lifted her chin. Then his handsome face moved closer and closer, until at last his slightly cool lips pressed against hers.
In that instant, Claire Bennett's brain short-circuited.
A moment later, Julian Sterling let her go. He lay down calmly and said in a low voice, "Go to sleep."
If this kept going, he was afraid he wouldn't be able to hold back.
Claire Bennett: "..."
She reached up and touched her lips, feeling flustered and unsettled.
Julian Sterling still hadn't answered her question, and then he'd suddenly kissed her? He kissed her and then just went to sleep by himself, without saying a single thing. What the hell was that supposed to mean?
Claire Bennett felt like her head was starting to ache.
She shot Julian Sterling a glare and cursed him furiously in her heart, bastard! He stirred her up and then just left her hanging, leaving her here alone to overthink everything.
Too bad the man had his eyes closed and wasn't affected in the slightest.
In the end, Claire Bennett could only sigh and lie down beside Julian Sterling. Accompanied by the sound of his light breathing, she drifted off to sleep without realizing it.

VIP room at a private hospital.
Naomi Pierce had been hospitalized.
After the examination on the day of the engagement banquet, the doctor said that aside from external injuries, she also had some internal bleeding, so she was arranged to stay in the hospital for a few days under observation.

Knock knock. The door to the hospital room was tapped, and Naomi Pierce quickly concealed her expression. "Come in."
She had assumed it was Ethan Sterling, but to her surprise it was Luna Brooks and Meng Lifen instead, carrying flowers and a fruit basket in their hands.
"Naomi."
"We came to see you."
Seeing that it was the two of them rather than Ethan Sterling, the expression on Naomi Pierce's face immediately relaxed. "What are you two doing here?"
The two of them didn't beat around the bush and said directly, "Naomi, yesterday we went out to eat, and you'd never guess who we ran into!"
"Exactly! We saw Claire Bennett. She was actually with a man, and they were really close..."
The two of them started talking in tandem.
A look of disinterest flashed across Naomi Pierce's face. "So what?"
"Naomi, we heard Claire Bennett say that the man she brought to you and Manager Ethan's engagement banquet that day wasn't the real President Sterling at all, but a driver who works for someone!"
"What!" Naomi Pierce sat up straight in shock.
Her eyes turned sharp as she looked at the two of them and pressed, "Are you sure?"
"Absolutely true!"
"We even made a recording. If you don't believe us, listen for yourself."
After saying that, they took out a phone and played the recording.
When Naomi Pierce heard Claire Bennett personally admit that she had found a man to impersonate Julian Sterling, a cold gleam instantly spilled from her eyes.
So the whole thing had been fake!
Claire Bennett actually dared to do that. She had deceived everyone, including Ethan Sterling and Tanya Sterling. They had all been played by Claire Bennett!
Thinking of all the humiliation she had suffered at the engagement banquet, Naomi Pierce ground her teeth in hatred.
What had happened that time had been a huge blow to her. She had originally thought Claire Bennett had really managed to latch onto a big shot like Julian Sterling.
Who would have thought it was a fake!
