Chapter 120
The Second Light
The hearing room got a second light fixture after a maintenance complaint.
No one believed it until they saw it: one red light and one amber, both in sync at 11:17.
Elise brought it to Bell and Priya as a piece of evidence.
"Maybe that's the court admitting a new line," Mara said.
Priya checked recordings. No one had logged two lights before.
"This means one active channel became visible during correction," she said.
In the correction hearing, they presented a simple request:
Record both lights as evidence that witness queue had duplicate signaling.
Duplicate signaling without owner identity is invalid.
The judge requested immediate technical check and allowed a short pause.
Elise sat in the stair with the team while they reviewed a clip.
At 11:17 exactly both lights flashed and the red did not stay lit.
Bell said this is why they had no face in that segment.
Priya said no face because they were preserving for legal ambiguity.
Elise gave the clearest answer she had all week:
We are not asking for light. We are asking for lawful purpose.
Outside, the city was still.
The source sent one short note:
**Two lights means one room accepted correction.
Elise wrote on the hearing note:
Correction means someone can be named and someone can be heard.
