Chapter 179
The Unlabeled Route
Priya asked for every route in the backup map marked with "U".
There were none.
Until the one that didn't load.
The unlabeled route appeared at the top of the queue viewer as a white-on-gray stripe.
Elise zoomed in.
A route had no title, no ID, and no destination.
Only one action:
transfer_legal_voice.
She asked Bell to check where the route crossed physical space.
It intersects Annex Corridor, service lift, and floor that opened.
The hearing had entered a second phase.
At 09:30, a courier delivered a folder with no sender.
Inside: four photocopies of old stairwell photos and one line at the bottom:
Unlabeled route is active when witness is disputed.
Elise used the route in reverse.
It pointed to a room in the old service basement not registered in municipal permits.
She and Bell entered with legal escort.
The room had no furniture but one wall full of old badges.
All had no names.
Priya found one from 2019 with the same metadata prefix as chapter 166's hidden approval.
The judge allowed an immediate exhibit addendum:
Unlabeled route should be treated as an unauthorized process event.
Elise wrote in the margin:
A route only gets labeled after someone owns it. They never owned this one.
