She pressed print.
M. Q. was visible on one side, W. H. on the other.
Bell said the card was for voice handoff, not legal handoff.
At court, the panel asked who wrote the card.
Elise answered:
No person wrote this. This was written when a sequence crossed from cold storage into active hearing.
Priya decoded the metadata.
The card timestamp was not in her previous chain.
It came from the same loop as the floor that opened.
Elise replayed chapter 170's last shift notes.
There, Bell had noted one line: queue redirect.
The card was a physical version of that redirect.
Later, Priya got an unsolicited message with one line:
If you keep the name cold, it won't complain.
Elise took that line as a threat.
The card was added as Exhibit C: name_under_ice.
At dusk, the freezer door shut itself once, though no one touched it.
She didn't go near it again.
