Chapter 230
The Nonhuman Signature
At 2:00 a.m., an archive key printed one final signature in UV.
Elise saw one line and thought first of Mara.
signed by nonhuman.
Priya checked the signature algorithm and found no human biometrics.
Only one confidence score.
Bell asked if that score could be forged.
Any score can be forged. A person can still be absent.
At court, she showed the score graph.
The judge asked who authored the verification logic.
No one had that author.
Elise asked if verification without author is admissible.
There was silence.
Outside the hearing room, Bell received a packet showing one archived file from chapter 229.
The packet contained a line:
Human signatures should close, not open.
The room had kept the file open for years.
Elise wrote in her notes:
A nonhuman signature can move a process, but it cannot carry legal consequence.
