Chapter 235
The Room That Kept Its Name
Elise found the same room label used throughout the case: W-150.
Now it appeared with a name in tiny subtext.
Owner: Unknown.
Priya said names can remain and be meaningless if status stays unknown.
Bell asked if that status could be overridden.
Elise said yes, only if the room provided a person witness in audit.
At court, she asked for override logs.
No override found.
A second log, fetched from secondary archive, showed repeated attempts by two scripts:
set_room_name("W-150")
set_owner_name(null).
name exists. owner missing. exactly.
Elise held those two lines against the final name restored event.
The hearing room admitted the contradiction existed.
She sent a direct written statement:
A room can keep a name, but cannot keep legality when owner is empty.
At dusk, the old office lights flickered and steadied. No one in the room moved.
