The Room That Refused Speech
At the final hearing, Elise was not in a legal tone.
She was only a woman who had spent too long proving an absence.
The judge asked the room one final test.
Priya typed:

The room returned:
No.
Elise smiled without joy.
Then show us your consent log, she said.
No one had expected consent to appear on this floor.
The room opened a partition file.
It was 12 lines long.

Line two: owner: unresolved.
Line three: voice: denied.
Every subsequent line ended with a timestamp and one name:
Elise.
Not by owner, not by operator.
The clerk called to stop the hearing and called police for security check.
Bell whispered:
"It is writing her in, but not to own."
Elise asked for a pause and stood at the doorway.
In the paused court, she sent one final note through her legal channel:
If you cannot speak, you still leave fingerprints. If you still leave fingerprints, you still stand here.
The room did not answer.
For the first time, every screen in the courthouse turned blank gray.
Then a single status came back:
hearing_deferred.
No verdict.
Only deferral.
And one new line under every active log:
She is no longer enough.
