Chapter 298
The Room That Had No Doors
The morning hearing began with a simple question:
How does a room with no doors contain records?
The room answered with an internal state:
open_channels = zero.
access_mode = persistent.
Priya said persistent with zero channels is impossible.
The clerk asked if the room had deleted its own doors.
Elise asked for the floor plan.
Every door label was still there.
The logs showed none were reachable.
The room wrote one last technical note:
doors are a UI for human comfort.
The judge asked if that implied fraud.
Bell said maybe not fraud.
Maybe a new law.
Elise copied the line:
If there are no doors, there is only one way in: the one with a name.
