“Private,” she said.

Noah handed her the second packet. “Shared.”

Lucy chose what to give him.

The third packet contained the clinic's illegal use of her identity.

“Public,” Lucy said.

The system marked the choices.

One patient after another followed.

Some chose everything private. Some released every page. Some asked for time.

Claire watched the archive learn to wait.

Rowan asked, “Why keep the letters private?”

“Because they are hers.”
