Shaw's prosecution used property fraud, unlawful surveillance, coercive research, and Mae's death evidence. Survivors kept control of their testimony.
Claire converted the observation corridor into a public archive with locked consent rules. The spare-room door stayed open, its walls stripped to studs so no hidden passage could pretend to be ordinary.
Lucy returned Mae's coat. Claire gave it back; Lucy had survived inside it too.
At the first neighborhood meeting without cameras, Nina took notes on paper. Daniel sat in the back without speaking for Claire.
A new tenant asked whether the house still listened.
Claire pointed to the visible recorder and the switch beside it. "Only when we choose."
She turned it off. Everyone in the room watched the red light go dark.
