Evidence of Bribery

Given Paige Nolan's status and circumstances, a man like Dr. Nolan Pierce, whose position was above hers, naturally had an aura around him. It should have been very easy for him to coax and deceive her.

Covering her face, Paige Nolan said painfully, "A nurse's job is especially exhausting, and overtime is the norm. Because my schedule is constantly flipped between day and night, my hormones got thrown off, and I haven't been able to get pregnant either..."

"Of course he knows! Now that he took a huge sum of money for falsifying records for Naomi Pierce, he just wants an excuse to kick me aside so he can run off and live happily with that woman!"

Paige Nolan had long since been blinded by hatred.

Her expression turned cold, and gritting her teeth with resolve, she said angrily, "I'm going to make them pay the price they deserve!"

After listening to Paige Nolan pour everything out, Claire Bennett had a general understanding of the situation.

No wonder Paige Nolan wanted so badly for Dr. Nolan Pierce to go to prison.

If Dr. Nolan Pierce divorced her, then everything she had given before would come to nothing. For a woman whose trust had collapsed, wanting to do something that destroyed everything was perfectly normal too.

Claire Bennett's eyes flickered, and she asked casually, "But without enough evidence, if it's only your word, it'll probably be hard to achieve your goal."

"Of course I have evidence!"

What Claire Bennett needed was clear evidence, and she had deliberately been leading Paige Nolan step by step into bringing it out.

"You have evidence that Dr. Nolan Pierce accepted bribes?"

"After I found out about this, I got the transfer information showing Naomi Pierce sent him money. Maybe she thought Dr. Nolan Pierce wouldn't dare speak up about it, so she didn't even send it anonymously and used her own account to make the transfer. Is that enough evidence?"

Claire Bennett murmured thoughtfully. That evidence could indeed prove that Dr. Nolan Pierce had accepted a bribe, but it couldn't prove that Naomi Pierce's pregnancy was fake.

If she could get more evidence, it would be a little more advantageous for her.

"Is it still not enough?"

Claire Bennett nodded along and said, "It really isn't enough. At most, this can only get him suspended pending investigation. If there's anything else, we'd probably have a better chance."

Paige Nolan said, "Before, because I wanted to listen in on Dr. Nolan Pierce and that woman's situation, I bought a miniature listening device. Give me two days, and I'll get exact evidence of the deal between him and Naomi Pierce!"

To her surprise, she saw Julian Sterling in the room. He seemed to be looking for her, and there was a faint trace of anxiety on his face as he asked, "Where did you go?"

"I... I went to look for evidence."

Julian Sterling's expression relaxed, and he asked, "What evidence?"

Claire Bennett pulled him down to sit, then told Julian Sterling everything about Naomi Pierce that she had overheard by accident, along with what Paige Nolan had just told her.
