Chapter 377
The Grandson-in-Law Is Good-Looking
When Claire Bennett saw that Grandma Shaw had mistaken her for someone else again, she sighed and beckoned to Julian Sterling, signaling for him to come over.
Julian Sterling pushed down all his thoughts and walked forward.
He stopped beside Claire Bennett. With how exceptionally well-matched they looked standing together, they seemed like a golden couple, the kind that naturally made people sigh in admiration.
Claire Bennett looked at Grandma Shaw and said softly, "Grandma, take another look at who I am now. I'm Claire. Do you remember me?"
She reminded Grandma Shaw again, trying to help her see clearly who she was.
After hearing Claire Bennett's words, Grandma Shaw carefully looked her up and down for a while. Then she froze as if turned to stone. "Cl-Claire? You're Claire!"
Hearing that her grandmother had finally recognized her, Claire Bennett was so overjoyed that she cried.
She stepped forward and held Grandma Shaw's hand. "Grandma, it's me. I'm Claire."
Grandma Shaw's eyes reddened too. "Good, good, good. I never thought that in the blink of an eye, Claire would already be all grown up. Grandma hasn't seen you in such a long time."
Only then did Claire Bennett remember Julian Sterling standing beside her. She smiled and said, "Grandma, I really have grown up. I even got married. This is the man I married."
She began introducing Julian Sterling to Grandma Shaw, wanting her approval.
Grandma Shaw looked at Julian Sterling, and a gratified, satisfied expression appeared on her deeply lined face. "My granddaughter's husband is good-looking. The children you two have in the future will definitely be good-looking too, as pretty as Manqing and Claire..."
As she spoke, Grandma Shaw slipped off the bracelet she was wearing, wanting to give it to Claire Bennett.
Seeing that, Claire Bennett hurriedly tried to refuse.
The two of them went back and forth for a while. In the end, Claire Bennett put Grandma Shaw's bracelet back onto her wrist. After talking for so long, Grandma Shaw finally showed a tired expression, and Claire Bennett quickly told her to rest.
Not wanting to disturb her sleep, the others all withdrew from the hospital room.
After everyone walked out into the hallway, Claire Bennett finally looked at Sean Shaw's parents, her face showing both embarrassment and shyness, and introduced, "Uncle, Aunt, this is the man I married."
Before, Sean Shaw's parents had told her they thought she had gotten married far too rashly. Now that Claire Bennett was introducing Julian Sterling to them, she still felt a little uneasy deep down.
She looked at them nervously, hoping to receive their blessing.
Even though Julian Sterling's status and profession were not that impressive, she felt that he truly was a very good person.
Julian Sterling greeted them respectfully. "Uncle, Aunt."
Sean Shaw's father's brows drew tightly together, his gaze falling on Julian Sterling with an indescribable look, and no one could tell what he was thinking.
Sean Shaw's mother, meanwhile, glanced at Sean Shaw, and the two of them silently communicated something.
At that moment, Sean Shaw remembered that for the sake of profit, he had agreed to help Julian Sterling conceal his identity. Claire Bennett presumably still didn't know about it, and he couldn't let his parents ruin things.
So he quickly spoke up. "Mom, Dad, what are you standing there for? Your niece's husband is greeting you!"
Sean Shaw winked at the two of them.
Sean Shaw had mentioned before that Claire Bennett still didn't know Julian Sterling's identity. Seeing him like this, Sean Shaw's parents understood that he was signaling them.
The two of them suppressed all kinds of emotions in their hearts, then put on kind smiles. "Mm. Claire is a good girl. You must treat her well from now on."
"I will," Julian Sterling answered seriously.
Only after hearing Sean Shaw's parents say that did Claire Bennett finally let out a relaxed smile.
She had been worried that her uncle and aunt would not be able to accept Julian Sterling, but from the looks of it now, they had already accepted him.
