So Julian Sterling Has a Girlfriend
Claire Bennett walked her out and even asked which restaurant in Chicago had the best food.
Ruby Sterling thought for a moment and said, "Crown Taste House. Are you going there to eat? If you give them my name, you can get twenty percent off."
That place was part of Sterling Group. If Claire Bennett went there, she could have eaten for free, but Ruby Sterling was afraid of exposing herself, so she conservatively only mentioned a twenty percent discount.
"Okay, thank you." Claire Bennett was already very satisfied.
With her hand injured, it wasn't very convenient for her to cook. After hearing Ruby Sterling's words today, she suddenly remembered that Julian Sterling had helped her so much, and she still hadn't properly thanked him.
So tonight she was going to spend money and buy food from the best restaurant to bring back for dinner.
She would treat it as thanking Julian Sterling.
After seeing Ruby Sterling off, she took a cab to Crown Taste House.
At the entrance, she gave Ruby Sterling's name, and sure enough, the restaurant manager warmly welcomed her inside. She ordered several dishes and asked the restaurant to pack them up so she could take them back later.
While Claire Bennett was waiting in the lobby, she saw a server leading a man inside.
He was dressed in a black shirt and black slacks. His tall, straight, striking figure was especially eye-catching, making people notice him at a glance.
It was Julian Sterling!
Claire Bennett hadn't expected such a coincidence, running into him here.
She had just started to go up and say hello when she unexpectedly saw a woman following behind him. The woman was wearing a white dress from Chanel. Her face was beautifully ethereal, her manner elegant, carrying the air of someone from a wealthy family.
Seeing them walking over, Claire Bennett quickly opened the empty private room beside her and hid herself inside.
She left a crack open and watched the two of them walk past.
Claire Bennett leaned against the wall and stood there in a daze for a while before going out. Just then, she saw Julian Sterling and that woman disappear into a private room, cutting off her entire view.
The warmth in her heart was instantly doused.
That woman had looked like she came from an extraordinary family background. Claire Bennett didn't know what Julian Sterling's relationship with her was. She felt that when a man and a woman came out alone for a meal, it definitely wasn't that simple, and people couldn't help but think more about it.
"Miss, your order is ready."
The manager of Crown Taste House personally brought the food out to Claire Bennett. Somewhat distracted, she took it and said, "Thank you. I've already paid."
Claire Bennett stepped out and walked away.
As she was about to leave, she heard the manager's voice behind her. She was speaking into a walkie-talkie: "Kitchen, private room A2 wants the couples' set..."
Claire Bennett's steps halted for a moment.
That was the number of the private room Julian Sterling and that woman had just entered. He had gone in with a woman, and then ordered a couples' set. Were they a couple?
If they were a couple, then why was Julian Sterling still marrying her? Why had he kissed her?
Was it because of a momentary impulse, or because he had some feelings for her?
Claire Bennett felt her emotions in chaos, her mind completely blank.
She didn't know how she got back to the apartment. After she got home, she looked at everything in the place, and the sweet, happy mood she'd had that morning had long since disappeared.
When Ruby Sterling had asked her whether she had feelings for this man, her heart had seemed to flutter a little.
She hadn't expected it to be only her own wishful thinking. They were just a contract couple. She didn't even have the right to question him. At Crown Taste House, all she could do was choose to leave; she didn't dare go up and ask.
No, she couldn't let herself fall into this!
Claire Bennett gradually calmed down, and a resolute expression appeared on her face.
She took out the food packed up from Crown Taste House and put it onto plates, then sat on the sofa waiting for Julian Sterling to come back.
When he got back later, she would ask him directly. If he really did have a girlfriend, then once this was over, she would go her separate way from him and absolutely would not affect things between him and any other woman.
