Ch. 58 - Where Did These Two Mad Dogs Come From?

Chapter 58

Where Did These Two Mad Dogs Come From?

Vivian Yu Studio was extremely famous. Renting a single outfit there wasn't cheap, and it wasn't something you could get just because you had money—you also had to wait in line and make an appointment.

Not to mention how hard it was to get one of Vivian Yu's own designs, it was said that even the orders for the studio's other designers had already been booked through next year.

They had spent a long time buttering up Naomi Pierce before finally convincing her to use her connections so they could spend half a month's salary to come rent gowns by the other designers at Vivian Yu Studio.

They had heard that Claire Bennett didn't have a steady income from painting, and this time Naomi Pierce had only helped ask her to come paint, tossing her a little money out of charity. How could she possibly have any money to rent a gown?

At that moment, Ruby Sterling came back after finishing her phone call.

Although she hadn't seen what happened, the moment she saw Naomi Pierce standing there, she immediately guessed what had happened.

Whenever Claire Bennett ran into that white lotus Naomi Pierce, nothing good ever came of it.

This was outrageous. They actually dared bully her sister-in-law? She wasn't a sister-in-law for nothing!

When Naomi Pierce saw Ruby Sterling walking over, she wasn't afraid at all.

Back in college, Ruby Sterling had lived in the dorm next door, and Naomi had never once seen her bring her parents around. She was probably from a single-parent family too, just like Claire Bennett.

Heh, just one of Claire Bennett's poor little sisters, that's all.

Naomi Pierce gave Luna Brooks and Meng Lifen a look, and both women were quick enough to immediately get the message.

Meng Lifen let out a cold laugh and brazenly pointed at Claire Bennett as she ordered, "Claire Bennett, I'm renting the gown you're wearing. Take it off right now, you hear me!"

"What are you two standing around for? Make her take it off already!"

Hearing their arrogant words, Ruby Sterling's brows instantly furrowed, and a surge of fierce anger rose in her chest.

Where had these two mad dogs come from, daring to come bark and make trouble right in front of her?

They wanted to rent a gown?

That depended on whether she agreed!

Ruby Sterling curled her lips into a smile that didn't reach her eyes and turned to the clerk. "Where's your boss? Tell her to come out."

If someone dared come to her turf and stomp all over it, then naturally she was going to settle the score properly!

If Vivian Yu hadn't been busy rushing to finish designs for Fashion Week today and unable to receive her personally, how would Naomi Pierce have gotten away with climbing all over them?

The staff at Vivian Yu Studio had received instructions that an important guest would be coming today.

But with both Naomi Pierce and Claire Bennett here, they really couldn't tell which one was supposed to be the important guest.

Now that they heard Ruby Sterling asking to see the boss, they exchanged looks and hesitated.

Someone who dared directly ask to see the boss probably wasn't ordinary, right?

Before long, the sound of footsteps rang out, and the store manager of Vivian Yu Studio hurried over.

When the clerk saw the manager arrive, she breathed a sigh of relief and quickly went over to tell her what had just happened.

This time, Naomi Pierce had brought Luna Brooks and Meng Lifen to rent gowns through Ethan Sterling's connection with the manager, so the manager recognized Naomi Pierce's identity.

Could the important guest the boss had mentioned be Naomi Pierce?

She hadn't expected trouble to break out and for a distinguished guest to be offended, leaving her to smooth things over.

The manager immediately stepped forward and said with a smile, "Miss Pierce, our studio failed to serve you properly and made you unhappy. That's our fault. I'll give you twenty percent off this purchase."

Luna Brooks and Meng Lifen's eyes shifted, and they seemed somewhat dissatisfied.

Only twenty percent off? What they wanted was for it to be free!

So the two of them started making a fuss again...

Luna Brooks looked at Claire Bennett and Ruby Sterling and said, "This one is Ethan Sterling's future wife. Your studio should be under Sterling Group's say too, right? Then that makes her the lady boss of Sterling Group! Only giving twenty percent off—who exactly are you looking down on?"

"Exactly. We came here to pick out gowns, and somehow we got cursed at for no reason. Your place really doesn't screen customers—just any kind of person can be let in."

The manager thought over the pros and cons involved, then immediately echoed them. "We failed to receive you properly. Then tell me, what do you think we should do?"

"Obviously waive the whole bill for us!"

Hearing that, the manager thought for a moment. Figuring it was better to avoid more trouble, and that waiving a single order was no big deal within her authority,

she said with a smile, "Then our studio will cover the entire cost of your purchase today. Would that be acceptable?"

Hearing that, the two women looked at Claire Bennett with smug satisfaction, their eyes full of contempt, and even let out mocking laughs.

"You think finding the boss would help? We're Sterling Group employees. Who doesn't know Sterling Group is the shareholder behind Vivian Yu Studio? What the hell are you?"

"That's right. Even if the boss came, she'd still have to give our Assistant Pierce some face." Luna Brooks chimed in from the side.

"Your little act blew up in your face, huh? That's hilarious!"

"And you still wanted to go up against Assistant Pierce? Don't you know your own place?"

The two of them sneered in tandem, their words vicious and ugly. Ruby Sterling was so furious her face twisted, and she was just about ready to jump out and curse them back to their faces.

But Claire Bennett merely kept a calm expression as she pulled Ruby Sterling off to the side, ignoring the two women completely.

After they reached a corner, Ruby Sterling finally couldn't hold it in anymore.

She asked unhappily, "Claire, why did you stop me just now? What the hell is Vivian Yu doing, hiring a manager this blind and clueless?"

Ruby Sterling grumbled indignantly, "I came here wanting to pick a gown and crush that little white-lotus Naomi Pierce, but instead I ended up swallowing a whole bellyful of anger!"

Just now she had wanted to call Vivian Yu, but Claire Bennett had stopped her and wouldn't let her call, causing the two of them to get laughed at for no reason.

It was seriously infuriating!

Claire Bennett, however, wasn't nearly as agitated as Ruby Sterling. She slowly curled her lips and smiled. "Ruby, do you think I'm the kind of person who gets wronged that easily?"

"What do you mean?" Ruby Sterling lifted her eyes to look at Claire Bennett in confusion.
