Chapter 676
The Grand Wedding (Continued)
Later, Ruby naturally agreed. The two of them were now legally husband and wife, they just hadn't held a wedding ceremony yet. Today, one of them was the best man and the other was the bridesmaid, so it could count as getting an early taste of what marriage felt like.
Even though the wedding was being held on a small island, none of the usual procedures were missing.
Ruby led several of the bridesmaids in blocking the doorway, stopping Julian Sterling from going inside. She looked at Julian and said with a smile, "Bro, even though we're brother and sister, I still can't go easy on you. You have to pass my test before you can take Claire away."
Julian Sterling was dressed in a sharp, well-tailored suit, looking especially handsome and dashing. A faint smile rested at the corners of his lips as he said, "What kind of test? Just say it. I can handle all of it."
Since Julian Sterling had put it that way, there was no way Ruby was going to let him off easy.
She pulled out a sheet of paper and asked with a beaming smile, "Next, I have ten questions. As long as you answer every single one, you pass my round. Listen carefully..."
Next, Ruby asked all ten of the tricky questions she had prepared.
Julian naturally answered simple questions without any hesitation, like Claire Bennett's favorite color, but when it came to difficult questions like what Claire Bennett's childhood nickname had been, he naturally had no idea.
Inside the room, Claire Bennett had already finished her makeup, and she looked like a fairy.
She sat on the sofa waiting for Julian Sterling to come in and pick her up, but when she heard the difficult questions Ruby was asking, helplessness appeared in her eyes. Her eyes shifted, and then she took out her phone and sent a text message.
Just when Julian Sterling was in a bind, he suddenly felt the phone in his pants pocket vibrate.
He took it out and glanced at it, only to discover that it was actually the standard answers from Claire Bennett.
It seemed someone felt sorry for her man and couldn't bear to watch him be put on the spot. The corners of Julian Sterling's lips curled into a faint arc, and following the prompts on his phone, he gave every single answer to all the questions.
Ruby had just been wondering how Julian Sterling, who had originally been stumped by her, had suddenly managed to guess them.
Suddenly, she remembered—hadn't Julian Sterling just looked at his phone?
Could it be that Claire Bennett had given him hints?
Ruby looked like she was about to cry as she protested, "No way, you actually cheated! Bro, did Claire tell you the answers? That doesn't count!"
The corners of Julian Sterling's lips lifted slightly. He smiled and said, "I'm Claire's husband. If she doesn't help me, who would she help? Besides, you never said hints weren't allowed. Now I've answered them."
Ruby felt like a mouthful of blood was stuck in her throat. She really hadn't made that rule. That truly was a blunder!
In the end, Ruby could only obediently step aside. Julian Sterling quickly passed all the tests and successfully entered the room, where he saw Claire Bennett sitting on the sofa.
Claire Bennett was dressed in a pure white wedding gown, like a lily blooming under the moonlight, pure and elegant.
Her face was adorned with exquisite makeup, her nose bridge straight and graceful, and her bright eyes sparkled like stars,
Claire Bennett's wedding gown had been designed by a famous designer and was inlaid with 9,999 tiny diamonds, making it glitter like starlight under the lights.
Julian Sterling stood where he was, staring at Claire Bennett before him for a long time.
He had almost never imagined that Claire Bennett would truly become his bride. This was the day he had dreamed of.
Claire Bennett had long since gotten a marriage certificate with him, but they had gotten that marriage certificate under an agreement, and they had never held a wedding. This was a belated wedding.
At that moment, Ruby popped out from behind again. Looking at Julian Sterling with a bright smile, she said, "Bro, Claire's shoes are missing. You have to find her shoes before you can take her away, otherwise she won't have any shoes to wear."
Julian Sterling shook his head helplessly and began searching the room for Claire Bennett's shoes.
The other groomsmen and the rest also joined in to help look.
Ruby revealed a smug smile. Heh heh heh, this time her brother probably wouldn't be able to find them, right? She had hidden the shoes inside Claire Bennett's skirt. Surely no one would be blind enough to dare lift the bride's skirt, right?
Just when Ruby thought she had succeeded, Claire Bennett took the shoes out from under her skirt on her own initiative.
"Julian Sterling, here."
Ruby's eyes widened as she looked at Claire Bennett in disbelief. Heartbroken, she said, "Claire, how could you do this!"
Julian Sterling let out a thoughtful sound and looked at Cameron Quinn beside him. "Cameron Quinn, if I remember right, you and Ruby Sterling still have a wedding to hold."
Cameron Quinn immediately understood Julian Sterling's warning. He was telling them to tone it down, or else their wedding later on would be ruined. Cameron couldn't help but shiver. Not daring to provoke his brother-in-law, he quickly pulled Ruby over and whispered a few words in her ear.
