Chapter 677

The End of Happiness (Finale)

Ruby Sterling's expression changed several times before she finally looked at Julian Sterling ingratiatingly and said with a smile, "Julian, since you've found the shoe, hurry up and go out with Claire. The guests outside are all waiting for you two."

Julian Sterling dropped to one knee and put the shoe on Claire Bennett for her.

Then he took Claire Bennett's hand, stood up, and walked outside with her.

The banquet hall was full of toasting and lively conversation. After Claire Bennett and Julian Sterling came out, they instantly drew everyone's attention, and enthusiastic applause erupted all around them.

Claire Bennett swept her gaze around the banquet hall and saw many familiar faces. Even her father, Victor Bennett, had come. Although their relationship had once been poor, after her accident they had reconciled, and now that she was getting married, Victor Bennett had naturally come to offer his congratulations.

As for Hannah Bennett, she wasn't there. Perhaps Victor Bennett had taken Ava Bennett into consideration and had not brought her along.

"Congratulations, Mr. Sterling and Mrs. Sterling."

"Congratulations, congratulations."

Claire Bennett had now officially become Mrs. Sterling, and everyone addressed her that way as well. Hearing this title that marked her change in status, the corners of her lips curved upward slightly.

"All right, the wedding ceremony is about to begin. Please return to your places, and the bride and groom should get ready too."

After that reminder, everyone found their places and stood properly. The lights at the venue dimmed, and then romantic, solemn music began to play. Under everyone's watchful eyes, Claire Bennett and Julian Sterling walked step by step toward the stage.

"It's so romantic, I'm going to cry." Ruby Sterling stood beside Claire Bennett, constantly wiping away her tears.

From the very beginning, when she had forcibly played matchmaker, to now, Claire Bennett and Julian Sterling had gone through so much that it all felt like a dream. But Claire Bennett and her brother had finally accomplished the biggest event of their lives.

When Claire Bennett walked toward Julian Sterling and Ruby Sterling finally no longer had to accompany her, Cameron Quinn walked over to Ruby Sterling's side. He also reached out and rested a hand on Ruby Sterling's shoulder, a faint smile at the corners of his mouth, and said, "We'll be this happy too."

Ruby Sterling looked up at him in surprise. Weren't they in a contract marriage? They didn't need to be all that happy, did they?

If Cameron Quinn found a girl he liked someday, then she ought to step aside and give up her place.

At that thought, Ruby Sterling felt a tight pain in her chest. She really didn't want to give Cameron Quinn up, didn't want to watch him marry another woman. The moment that thought surfaced in her heart, she suddenly startled.

Oh no, how could she be thinking that? Had she fallen for Cameron Quinn?

But he had always existed like an older brother, just like her Big Brother Cameron and Julian Sterling.

The wedding reached its most crucial moment. The officiating priest stood before Claire Bennett and Julian Sterling, a faint smile on his face, and asked softly, "Mr. Julian Sterling, are you willing to take Claire Bennett as your wife? Whether in poverty, sickness, or hardship, will you love her faithfully and never leave or forsake her?"

Julian Sterling answered without the slightest hesitation, "I do."

The priest looked at Claire Bennett. "Miss Claire Bennett, are you willing to accept Julian Sterling as your lawful husband and live with him? Will you, from this day forward, love him, respect him, comfort him, care for him, and remain faithful to him for as long as you both shall live, forsaking all others? Do you agree?"

"I do!"

Claire Bennett looked at Julian Sterling, her face carrying a happy smile. She had been unconscious for three years because of the accident, but during that time Julian Sterling had stayed by her side the entire time, without another woman.

She thought they had already achieved never leaving or forsaking each other, and in the future they would certainly grow old together and stay by each other's side for life!

(The End)

That night, after dealing with all the guests, Julian Sterling returned to the room.

The guests had all boarded boats and left the island in an orderly way. Only the servants, Claire Bennett, and Julian Sterling would remain here. They were about to spend their one-month honeymoon on the island.

Claire Bennett had already taken a shower and changed into a red outfit, and was now sitting on the bed waiting for Julian Sterling.

After all, today was their wedding night, so she was inevitably a little excited. Even though they already counted as an "old married couple," getting married now still gave her the illusion that the two of them had only just met not long ago. She felt as though even her mood had become much younger.

Suddenly, the door to the room opened, and Julian Sterling walked in smelling strongly of alcohol. Claire Bennett quickly stood up and walked toward him.

"Julian Sterling, you're back. How are you feeling? I just had the servants prepare some hangover tea for you. Go take a shower first, and when you drink the hangover tea later, you'll feel much better."

Seeing Claire Bennett looking every bit the good wife and loving mother, a faint curve appeared on Julian Sterling's face. He said softly, "Mm, I'll go shower now. I can't let you wait too long."

Hearing Julian Sterling's words, Claire Bennett's cheeks flushed red.
