The Bridge Turned Door
The bridge route in their map became a door the day the audit office called.
Not metaphor. The bridge station had hidden access, one hidden door to a maintenance node.
Elise, Bell, and Priya entered with legal copy in hand.
No cameras, but no one stopped them.
Inside: three old racks and one panel with a mechanical wheel.
Priya checked it and found tiny index marks.
One mark exactly at 11:17.
"This is where queue hold changed to maintenance silence," she said.
Mara asked, "Can we testify this in hearing?"
Elise said, "If it still holds logs."
There were no full logs.
Only one manual strip with one line:
Door turned to bridge; bridge turned to room.
Priya copied and sealed it.
Back at hearing, they submitted this as evidence that maintenance routes can become legal routes without disclosure.
Judge said the correction hearing would require a separate technical exhibit.
Elise asked if that meant further delay.
The judge said, "No, immediate technical review."
At sunset, they sat in silence outside the bridge door.
The unknown source sent one line:
