The Last Index

Bell brought the updated affidavit from the technical office.

Mara said they now had enough for a final owner challenge.

The petition stated three things:

1. The alias owner line had no legal identity.
2. Manual pilot override existed without human signature chain.
3. A witness route was modified without a named human consent.

At noon, they submitted to the correction chamber.

The clerk gave one stamped sheet and one delay notice.

Pending review. Temporary findings not final.

Elise felt the familiar edge of disappointment.

Priya said, "No final is still open."

At home, they gathered and looked at the final index.

June remained a question mark.

Bell said he had one thought.

"Ask for one direct witness process witness, not person."

Priya said, "Is that even possible?"

Elise answered, "It was never this clean, but we have to try."

The room where she once kept the missing file now held only coffee and tape.

At 11:17, the unknown source sent one line:

The last index does not prove a person. It proves what it protected.

Elise wrote it under a hard line.

She placed that line on a sticky note beside Bell’s affidavit and closed the binder.
