Aster dove after it. When she surfaced, the coin carried two faces: Everett's and Marisol's.
“It remembers both owners,” she said.
“Then it owns neither,” Claire answered.
They placed it in the paper archive. Every contract connected to Continuity Holdings changed its beneficiary to the described person.
The money trail separated from the patient names.
Mara watched the system rewrite itself.
“This is what I wanted,” she said.
“No,” Claire replied. “You wanted control with a better motive.”
Mara accepted the accusation.
The tunnel lights turned on.
